![]() ![]() Also for your information, PCI Express has several versions (PCIe 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0) but they are forward/backward compatible. Note PCI and PCI Express (often shortened to PCIe) are completely different standards. That fits with it having an Intel G43/G45 chip set which natively supports PCI Express. Is it one of these PC's that you have? If so, the specifications show that it has a PCI Express x16 slot. You may just be looking for the wrong type. Hi CainyG, I'm sure you can find a card that would work. Thanks in advance and let me know if you need more information.Įdited by CainyG, 19 December 2014 - 11:00 AM. Please note: I am very comfortable working with computer software issues but not so much with hardware. All is as it was and I need to know what I did wrong and what can/should I do when, or if, I attempt to install the PNY graphics card. This is where I stopped and began fixing the PC's errors. Upon reboot, my screen was in a ghostly black and white mode. I then inserted the PNY software disk and attempted to install the P NY driver but I got an error message stating no compatabile driver could be found and to contact the “Administrator.” I then reattached the monitor to the Intel Chipset and rebooted. The PC did not find the PNY card and defaulted to a generic graphics driver at 800 x 640. How I did it before was I shut off power to the PC, inserted the PNY Card, attached the VGA cable to the PNY Card and rebooted. I need to know how to correctly install the more powerfull, albiet older, graphics card. So, I'd better get some advise before attempting install again. However, upon reboot, graphic drivers were corrupted and I spent the day fixing what I thought would be a n easy graphics card install. I wanted to install a more powerfull GPU to help meet todays computing needs. Recently, I attempted to install a PNY Verto GeForce2 MX200, 32MB SDRAM, 2D/3D PCI Graphics Card (circa 2001) to use in place of my Intel Chipset.
